Introduction to Allergic Diseases, Atopic Dermatitis, Allergic Rhinitis, Asthma, Urticaria and Angioedema, Anaphylaxis, Basic and Practical Allergy.
Learning Outcomes:
- Understand the different allergic diseases
- Comprehend the difference between food intolerances and food allergies
- Identify the symptoms and signs of the various allergic diseases
- Describe environmental measures that can assist in the management of allergic diseases
- Understand the various allergy medications
- Educate a patient on how and when to use allergy medications
- Identify important triggers of anaphylaxis
- Describe the signs and symptoms of anaphylaxis
- Describe the treatment of an anaphylactic reaction
- Provide instruction on the use of an adrenaline auto-injector
